The year is 1996. Producers Čechtický, Lipert, and Kleník call British singer Charlotte “Charlie One” Fairman in London to ask her to record a few songs they’re working on. Fairman doesn’t hesitate. The album “Ohmophonica” is born—and with it, OHM SQUARE, the first band of its kind in the Czech Republic. What began as a cross-border collaboration between several studios evolved into one of Prague’s most distinctive electronic bands, known for blending live instruments with electronic energy and soulful vocals. “Well, a lot has changed since then… including our music,” jokes Fairman.
In 2026, current members Charlie One (Fairman) and Jan 2 (Čechtický) will celebrate Ohm Square’s 30th anniversary with the release of another EP, a new concept for live performances at major summer festivals, and a series of special solo concerts in the fall. The band will breathe new life into classic tracks while also presenting new material—even after three decades, Ohm Square remains just as progressive and vibrant as ever.
