Broken genre is just in our club's DNA. We've been bringing the world's greatest representatives of the Drum and Bass genre to Roxy for over 20 years, we were there at the beginning of many of today's stars, our dancefloor has seen all the evolution of styles or sounds and we're still excited to see where the new generation of young producers and DJs are going. But without the right community and loyal fans, we'd be on our own. In 2024, you sold out Sigma's show for their new record London Sound, and a week later it was the premiere of wonder BOU. So we're delighted that you're still coming to the Roxy to experience and see your favourite artists, and hopefully we'll see you again soon at one of our planned Drum and Bass events this spring at the Roxy. Here's our recap and we hope you have a great time!
FRIDAY 12/4 ➔ LONDON ELEKTRICITY 5-HOUR SET ➔ INFO & TICKETS
Tony Colman's return to Prague is a Drum and Bass holiday for us and it really is. The legendary British figure, who helped popularize the genre in the 90s with the founding of Hospital Records and was home to artists such as Netsky, Camo & Crooked, High Contrast, Metrik and of course dozens of others, certainly needs no introduction to his fans. And why do we say holiday? On his own initiative, London Elektricity decided that he would like to play a full-length set at his favourite Roxy in Prague - a long 5 hours behind the mix. What could be a bigger celebration than to hear a legend of the genre transmit his energy and love of music to his loyal Czech fans. So listen to his set from Shotgun Session before his April show and start enjoying it with us!
FRIDAY & SATURDAY 19/4 A 20/4 ➔ NETSKY WEEKEND TAKEOVER ➔ INFO & TICKETS
And we continue with another big event. The Belgian megastar Netsky is also returning to the venue and will perform at his beloved Roxy twice in a row! Why a favourite? It's certainly not a cliché, because our friendship with Boris has been going on since 2010, when we first brought the then young and quiet producer to the Czech Republic, for which he has always been humbly grateful. Netsky is a very popular inteprepret in the Czech Republic, as evidenced by the sold-out pre-sale of his Friday show, so if you don't want to miss his set, buy his Saturday show early. Both nights will have different Czech support from local names, but we're promising a great experience from both events, which we're already looking forward to.
SATURDAY 27/4 ➔ VIBE CHEMISTRY ➔ INFO & TICKETS
Next up is a wonderful premiere from a producer called Vibe Chemistry, who hails from the small town of Deanshanger in England. He's been producing since 2010, making his first Grime, Garage, House or Drill stuff, but his heart will always be mostly Drum and Bass. Since 2021 he has been signed to the ever growing DnBAllstars label, where he released his first Ballin EP with the track of the same name, which is his most successful to date - "One day I was driving in the car with my mum and my track Ballin randomly started playing on Radio 1. It was a beautiful moment, she loved it and was very proud of me" mentions Alex Morisco-Tarr, who will be playing at the Roxy for the first time. What we like about Alex is that just as his artistic name aims to reflect diversity, his sets are not monotonous. One example for all, an awesome set from the DnBAllstars festival in London.
SATURDAY 11/5 ➔ ALCEMIST ➔ INFO & TICKETS
If you like what the DnBAllstars record label is doing as much as we do, you'll love the next Roxy premiere from London producer Alcemist, who has been releasing here since 2019 and has been a fixture at their events. Outside of the three EPs released so far (Gone, Alchemy, Peace), it's been the mainstream-successful singles featuring vocal feats Stars on the Roof and Stan Smith that have been most popular with fans. The way Alcemist uses some of the best and most well-known DnB buildups that have pretty mediocre drops and mixes them with other bangers is absolutely brilliant.
FRIDAY 24/5 ➔ KANINE ➔ INFO & TICKETS
Last on the list of today's Drum and Bass artists, will be another first and another great London name - Kanine. The Jump Up and Dancefloor star has been one of the new wave of DnB producers in recent years, with his tracks Your Love (featuring Friction), Want You, Sundown, the vocal Back In Time and the track Shadows which put him on the map in 2017. He then demonstrates what his clean, playful and dynamic mixes sound like in a series of his own Essentials mixes. Be sure not to miss it!
This was a list of 5 world Drum and Bass artists you can see and hear at Roxy this spring. Each of them is different in their own way and sound, so we believe that every fan of genre will find their own. See you!
