The Scottish post-rock band show no signs of taking their foot off the gas, even twenty years into their career. After an extraordinarily successful soundtrack for the documentary Atomic from the BBC’s Storyville series last year, the band is currently working on their ninth album at the Abbey Road studios, and is hitting the road again. Their concert at Roxy (Prague) will be part of their upcoming tour.
In their almost exclusively instrumental pieces, Mogwai have never feared experimentation with new technologies, and have always tested the limits of musical instruments. Despite their liberal interpretation of genre, they will probably never lose the "post-rock" label. Mogwai are one of the most interesting British underground bands, and have worked on a wide range of soundtracks — from documentaries to TV series (including Sex and the City, The Fountain, Les Revenants, and Before the Flood).
It is highly likely that we will hear some pieces from their upcoming album at the Prague Roxy club in November.
